Search Engine Optimization with Article Marketing

Author: Sean Mize
A lot has been written lately on article writing and article marketing for link popularity and search engine optimization. The question always remains, does it really work? And it is sure hard to tie article marketing to specific search engine rankings. So much of our 'results' are based on gut feelings and hunches.

So here's what I have done. I have three sites whose primary search engine optimization technique is article marketing. I have done barely more than submit articles with links back to my site.

I anchor the links with keywords to my site. Within a couple of months my first site was ranked in the top ten among (obviously) millions. The next site took about the same amount of time.

My third site was indexed by Google within--get this---3 days after submitting my first article. No URL submission anywhere. Just articles.

That site is not in the top ten yet, but should be soon.

My personal results confirm all possible suspicions---search engine rankings are improved dramatically by article marketing.

A few tips for those of you who are submitting.

Submit to sites with RSS feeds. My testing reveals that those sites create more links on the internet than sites without RSS feeds, holding all other variables constant.

Always 'anchor' your link with text. For text use the keywords you want to become number one in. And vary the keyword phrases some so you don't look to the spiders like you are using a link exchange.

This just in: on my new website and targeted keyword, 28 of the first 90 sites for that keyword in Google include a link to my site or one of my articles (which gets to my site, of course).

Keep submitting articles, and you too can be number one.
